Our Website Is Evolving In Tandem With Our Community

We are pleased to announce that Windward Sails Charitable Foundation, Inc. has partnered with Harborlight Community Partners, Northeast Arc, and SV Design to design and build an affordable residential community in Rowley, MA for people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities and Seniors over the age of sixty-two. Thanks to a generous gift of four acres of land donated by John and Mary Lucey, our dream to build this community is now a reality.

Windward Crossing will boast seventeen supportive housing units for Seniors over sixty-two, five units for adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities, a private residence, and a community center named after John's late sister, Patricia Ann Lucey.

The Community Center is at the heart of this project. The center has been designed as a two story, 5,600 square foot, "New England" village-style building surrounded by nature. The Patricia Ann Lucey Community Center will include space for programs and activities emphasizing health and wellness, friendship, community support, meetings, and new beginnings.

Our non-profit, Windward Sails Charitable Foundation, Inc., was formed to raise capital to fund the construction of the community center at Windward Crossing and support the programming and on-going operational costs to run the community center post construction. We seek to foster a community where everyone is known, loved and valued. We look forward to having our residents, neighbors, friends and family enjoy the welcoming and comfortable surroundings of Windward Crossing and benefit from the robust programming, socialization and learning opportunities that the Patricia Ann Lucey Community Center will create for our community.
